The Ukraine Crisis Appeal – A Charity Fundraiser for British Red Cross
I performed live in aid of the Ukraine Crisis on Saturday 25th November.
The humanitarian situation is increasingly dire and desperate. Millions of people have no safe place to call home. More than 2.5 million have already left Ukraine, while countless more are still trapped underground, taking cover from the shelling, and desperate for a safe escape. Red Cross teams have been working around the clock to get critical care to those who need it most, both in Ukraine and its bordering countries. But with recent freezing temperatures, and ongoing violence, an enormous number of people urgently need help right now.
A multi-sensory residency.
‘Art has no boundaries! It’s for Everybody! It’s got that Openness, Intention & Hope. And it doesn’t mater how you interpret it, how you hear it, feel it. It’s your own experience.’
This is how I see Art of every creative practice. Everyone is a contributor, whether from the creator’s perspective or from the side of the person who is just there to admire it. In December 2022 I went to Manchester, where I attended a residency organised by Brighter Sound.
We all met at the People’s History Museum. For a week we worked on building an installation, where people could be involved at all levels when visiting it. All the artists taking part were differently abled. The Self Sense Space Residency was an opportunity for artists from different creative practices to collaborate and explore accessibility from different points of view. We offered the visitors a chance to experience our work their own way, without expectation, prejudice or judgement. Did we make history on that cold December night? Maybe this was the start of opening the art world in all its forms to new, innovative, flexible ways to understand it.
I held monthly live streamed shows on my YouTube Channel during the Covid Pandemic, lasting approximately 30 minutes each. I called these shows ‘The Squirrel Sessions‘ in honour of my 2 furry squirrel toy mascots that joined me for every session and remind me that joy can always be found in the of smallest things. An important thing to remember in these times.
On Saturday 24th March 2018, Elena will performed at St John’s Church in Canton, Cardiff.

This was a charity night in aid of Care & Repair Cymru – Improving homes, Changing lives.
Elena performed at the BING ANEE Inter-Cultural Arts Festival, a vibrant inter-cultural arts festival in celebration of diversity which will take place on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August 2019 in the Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
On Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th August Elena will ran a singing workshop with Thomas McCarthy (Irish Traveller and Ireland’s Singer of the Year 2018).
Sunday 18th August Elena performed alongside Thomas McCarthy.

On Monday 31st October Elena sang live on the Jelli Records Music Show on Bradley Stoke Radio (BSR 103.4FM), a community radio station based in Bristol which broadcasts to Bristol and the surrounding area.

On Saturday 30th January. Elena will be performed at the Woodlands Centre in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.
The concert was to raise funds for the Mòd nan Eilean Siar 2016.
Holocaust Memorial Day Event at An Lanntair Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis

This event was organised by the Western Isles Diversity and Equality Steering Group, and will be an evening of challenging and diverse live music and experiences taking you on a journey from darkness to light.
